Rowlf -- the Muppet pianist (Inkadinkadoo) was perfect for a musician and song writer friend of mine. Rowlf is a three layer dimensional and lifted with foam mounts on top of the piano keys. Accents are a red gem for a cufflink I "heart" my extraordinarily creative friends -- you will too when you visit them!

A Cameo Appearance

What a great sketch by Eiglas for the C.R.A.F.T. challenge this week. The sketch reminded me of a cameo so that

was my inspiration. The DCWV paper helps with a victorian kind of look. And I guess you could say that I like gold! -- gold flourishes, medallions and such to follow the sketch. For the label or tag element of the sketch, I tried many different labels and bits of lace but nothing seemed to fit for the period look I was trying to achieve -- so there sits a little dimensional butterfly for that element. Thanks for coming for a look - please let me know what you think.
Stuff I used: MS punch, cuttlebug embossing folder, nestabilities, Emginations punch, Craft punch, Sizzix die cuts, gems, sequins, and heart from stash. Stamp: unknown (but adored).

Once Upon a Time...

Mrs. Doubtfire is the movie of choice for this week's Cinema Saturday challenge and this movie brings up a memory for me of Robin Williams, dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire, sitting in a rocking chair, reading a children's storybook. Perhaps this is something I have just dreamed up -- but I think that it did happen. At least, "Once Upon a Time." This image of Mrs. Doubtfire has inspired my "Once Upon a Time" storybook which can be opened up (part of the challenge was for something that opens up and/or contains a surprise). My husband and I celebrate 49 years of marriage this month so I made it into an anniversary "card." Here are the pages when the "book" is opened up.
